Mount Olive built the first dining hall for Hull High School in Kijota, Tanzania, when the school housed just 30 students.
Hull High School now serves over 200 students. As part of our 60th anniversary, we raised $30,000 to build a new and larger dining hall, completed in 2020. Our Hull High School Scholarship Fund continues to provide scholarships for students in need each year.
Mount Olive members also supported the renewal of the Vivian Gulleen Center, which empowers girls to further their studies.
02Mission Colombia
Accompaniment is walking together in a solidarity that practices interdependence and mutuality.
Mount Olive’s companion congregation is Emmanuel in Paz de Ariporo, home to one of the Lutheran schools in Colombia. We provide monthly scholarship funding for students through the education ministry of the Lutheran Church of Colombia (IELCO).

God richly provides — the earth can produce enough food for everyone. Members support ELCA World Hunger through God’s Global Barnyard, the Good Gifts catalog and special offerings, funding sustainable solutions to the root causes of hunger and poverty.
Our Middle School Youth assemble Personal Care Kits, our Sunday School assembles Baby Care Kits, and both are blessed in worship before going to the LWR warehouse in the Twin Cities. Fair Trade coffee from the LWR Coffee Project is served on Sunday mornings.
